Responsibilities

  • Oversee, direct, and perform the activities of the assigned surveying crew.
  • Responsible for the field adjustments on transits, total stations, total electronic stations, data collectors and codes, levels, compasses, and tripods.
  • Knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, coordinate geometry, and basic surveying computations.
  • Responsible for survey instruments and equipment.
  • Responsible for the field notes for standard surveying operations: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross-section surveys.
  • Skilled knowledge of how to interpret control point records and data sheets, as well as locate points in the field.
  • Skilled knowledge of basic plan reading and preparation (i.e. site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and developing existing and finished contours).

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Writing descriptions of surveys.
  • Searching legal records, survey records, and land titles.
  • Drafting, ALTA preparation, and construction stakeout.
  • Boundary and topographic.
  • Interpreting and verifying survey data.
  • Performing field survey calculations.
  • Indoor/outdoor work.

This opportunity requires:

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a Survey related field, or equivalent experience.
