Information Technology Helpdesk Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain efficient operation of the Gateway Information Technology network.
  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail, and in person requests for assistance from users experiencing technical problems.
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support.
  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all information technology products.
  • Manage Microsoft Online Services solutions (Office365).
  • Backup Administration.
  • Printer management.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Monitoring and responding to helpdesk requests.
  • System administration.
  • Installation of desktop computers, desktop imaging, and software installation.
  • Troubleshooting and logging all hardware and software problems and documenting solutions.
  • Maintaining, managing, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer systems and servers for performance and security related issues.
  • Phone system support.
  • Active directory.

This opportunity requires:

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field

Experience

  • 0-2 years experience
  • The candidate should have good communication, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Knowledge of computing and computer network (LAN/WAN) hardware, software, and peripheral equipment is preferred. Experience with all aspects of systems administration (AD, Group policies, Mail, Virtualization, Backups) and phone system administration.
