Geotechnical Engineer

Department: Engineering Specialty Services
Location: Pittsburgh, PA

This position is full-time in person. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience. Local travel may be required. No major travel for months at a time.

The ideal Geotechnical Engineer candidate will have the following experience:

  • Geologic and Topographic Mapping and Aerial Research
  • Laboratory and In Situ Testing of Soil and Rock
  • Field Classifications of Soil and Rock
  • Construction Inspection of Earthwork
  • Construction Inspection of Drilled Shafts
  • Construction Inspection Report Writing
  • Proofroll and Compaction Testing of Soils
  • Stability Modeling
  • Foundation Design
  • Slope Stabilization Design
  • Landslide Hazard Recognition and Mapping
  • Development of Soil and Rock Design Parameters
  • Embankment Keyway and Bench inspection

This opportunity requires:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering (Geotechnical focus)

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience

License/Certification

  • P.E. license required
